  1. First off I have been first stumbled across this website a little over a year ago. I tried for a few weeks posting my own story on here hoping that someone had had a similar experience. Just some sign that I wasn't going crazy. Okay here's my story... In the middle of 2008 I started having these episodes. I was working a night shift job at a factory then. I would be in the middle of doing something and bamm, I'd be somewhere different all of a sudden. before I would have a chance to think I would understand where I am and what I was doing, I would have no knowledge that I had been somewhere and sometime else a few seconds before. I would be at some point in my past, not realizing that anything had happen to me. It was not that I had no control, but rather I had no knowledge of the future from that point in my life so I would make all decisions as I had in the past, because to me I was the past me. I would live out my life exactly as I had before for a completely random period of time before I'd return to exactly where i was when I left. When I was returned to the future it was like waking from a dream. At first I didn't know what had happen or where I was, then suddenly my memory started to return. Except more violently. I would feel a sudden rush of information coming into my skull the first time it happened I felt sick and stumbled. But the more times it happen the easier it became to deal with. it didn't seem like any time had passed in the present when I would leave. But the in the past their seemed to be no limit. I believe the longest was 2 weeks 5 days. The shortest I can remember is about 10 minutes. I have no control over when I leave, what point in my life I arrive, and how long I stay. I would not even be too certain I was time traveling at all if it wasn't for the fact that I could recall vividly things I had long forgotten, people's faces, a phone number I over looked a million times. Crazy little stuff that I think would put even people with photographic memories to shame over. I felt like it was seconds ago and I possible was. I believe I can only travel to the past, but I do have a very strange memory that seemed so surreal it could be the future or it could have just been a dream I just randomly remembered a part of. This one was of me holding an infant in my arms a woman nearby. The woman and the room were constantly changing, as were the child. at one point it was a dead fetus. This whole thing lasted for at most 5 seconds. The only reason I considered that this was not a dream is because it was from the first person point of view and I never have dreams from the first person. Sorry for this being so long. please tell me if you know of a similar case.
  2. I guess I need to describe more in depth what mental time travel is... The only established examples I have are in works of science fiction. The Butterfly Effect, Slaughter House 5, Quantum Leap. Journeyman and Hiro from Heroes, while are mentally obtained, leave chances for complications. I perfer ones where someone can jump to either their own future/past self, or jump into someone elses body for a certain time frame. These leave less room for the proving false because of the lack of disappearance from the present, or creditable witnesses.
  3. While the claim you posted of someone else's might be interesting if it could be substanciated, it doesn't really fit the Mental time travel genre. It's more prophecy or the whole video tape thing makes it sort of one of those warnings from the future. It's not really mental time travel.
  4. Can you give me details of your mental time travel experience. Do you actually remember the process of traveling through time? Do you have any control over the process? You said you travel to the future, are you able to retain any useful information from the future? Have any of the dates you have traveled to come to pass yet, and if so were the events you originally saw changed in anyway? Do you feel that events in time are predestined or do you believe you are able to change things?
  5. I'm looking for cases or claims of "Mental Time Travel." That means time traveling with one ones mind. Cases that do NOT involve the use of a machine to travel through time. If you know of a case or person who has made a claim like this, or you are a person who has such a claim to make. Please tell me your story, and feel free to give details.
  6. Re: Umm, Can't find a theory to explain mine Well I don't think I am God, or even have a glance into his mind. I feel that perhaps this is a function of the human brain that everyone has the ability to tap into. I wanted for many months to control it, with no progress in sight. I ended up hating it because it became so frequent I had difficulty functioning at work, I found that stimulants such as coffee or cigerettes can interupt it. If I feel it coming a quick smoke can bring me back to the present, but it's difficult to do this in a factory that doesn't allow one to smoke. I ended up quiting before I got fired and I've been able to stop it most of the time, right now I'm only having an episode every week or two. I think that it maybe a part of the brain I'm not evolved enough to have control over. I know that a lot of people say it's dangerous to time travel, but I feel the way my mind does it is more annoying than anything. I can't change anything, but if I could choose a date I might be able to earn something or remember someone I had long since forgotten.
  7. Re: Umm, Can't find a theory to explain mine Well I guess I understand what you are saying, when I'm in the past I can't change anything, because when I'm there I do not know I am from the future and every act I do is of my mentality at that point in the past. But I believe from one very vague memory that seems like some part of a dream, that I have been traveling to the future as well, but because the future is not set, everything around me is in constant shift. I've found many works of science fiction that are similar to my own, Slaughter house 5, Quantum Leap, Journey man, The Butterefly effect. But no where was I able to find a single person making a claim to such a thing. The closet of these fictions to my own experiences is Slaughter house 5, but I've never been visited by aliens. I've also thought about how such a thing might have come about. When I watch a newer movie called "Cash Back" I saw that the main character also developed his ability to stop time, out of the boredom of working a night shift job. It was a means of escape from the present. I too work the 12 hour night shift when my first occurance sprang up. I think that if most of these science fiction stories got their start from someone like myself who was suffering from their persistant comings and goings, but was too afraid to come forward out of fear being label. These stories might have been their way of telling their encounter without being called crazy.
  8. Re: Umm, Can't find a theory to explain mine Mine, if you want to call them dreams, are during periods when I am awake, working, driving, in the middle of a conversation with someone. I could write them down, but what's the point I remember them clearly after I come out of them. except the ones that are of what I believe to be the future, but those are mostly gone right after I come back.
  9. Okay I know this site, with most of the world, is full of people all looking for ways to time travel using machines, But how many people consider the possibility to be a evolutionary trait we have yet to either develop or activate. The human race sets it's self apart from most species by our ability to comprehend the fourth dimension, our scientist already claim to have discovered 7 more dimensions which none of us can see, and very few of us can understand. I think that before we can even hope to understand these new dimensions, we must first master the Fourth. Most think this mastery will come about through technology, but I believe it is more likely it will be by means of Evolution. The basis of evolution sparks from our constant needs which can't be satisfied by our own means. What other creature dwell on the past like we do, or thinks with such powerful emotion about the future. I think that we are already well on our way. Our ability to dream and reminese about things as we do can not be a useless trait that comes for no reason. Our ability to accurately fore out comes from our actions. The philosophical theories we've determined about the paradox, and ways it could be avoided. And The fact that we are already consuming ourselves in the sciences of time travel. These are all reasons that we should start evolving the ability to travel time.
  10. Yes I kind of know what you might be talking about. I sometimes know nthings I shouldn't, most times it only manifests in dreams. Certain things I do or say in dreams, like one dream where I'm building a house and I remember details from it that when I wake up I research and find them to be plausible. or one where I remember reciting a poem in a language I didn't know. I thought it was Chinese, but I still felt like I understood everything I said at the time. The few words I remembered when I woke up were a part of the poem. and were Japanese. I'm not sure though if these are things I subconciously picked up or if there is something else to it.
  11. Okay, I've been having these episodes that started last year. I would be in the middle of doing something and suddenly find myself in a strange place, then this weird feeling came over me as years of my life were stripped from me, leaving me temporarolly disoriented, but once it past I knew where an when I was but had no Idea I had just come from the future. I was back in my past self living out some random part of my life. This would continue for minutes, Hours, one time even over three weeks. I was living my life as I originally had because I believed I was myself from back then. When I returned to the present I had the inital disoriented of before but I was having my mind filled with all the knowledge and experience that was stripped from me was returned. When I got back, the portion of my life that I had been reliving was still fresh in my mind. I could remember Events from the time period with more clarity and people I have long since forgotten about. I've had a couple of trips to the future, atleast as far as I could tell. The future is very different from the past. I only have a couple of scenes that I can even remember, I assume that my mind has been stripped like before, and this is why I can seem to recall things from then. but the things I do remember give me feelings of deja vu, and I can only really infer the situation through instinct. For example, one thing I can remember was holding a baby with a woman sitting across from me (I assumed the baby was mine and the woman was the babies mother) But the really strange thing was that everything I saw was in constant shift and the people would change, morphing rapidly between who they were. Most would change with the background, and a few like the wife and child would stay in relatively the same position from me, but the person would change. The baby flashing between races and eye/hair color, a couple of times appearing dead. I'm guessing the only reason I even remembered it was because it was very emotional. and the ones when I travel to the past rarely were. I believe I might be time traveling, but I can never change anything because I can't remember anything, but the only thing usefull seems to be the ability to recall what has been forgotten. as for the future events, I believe they are in constant shift because they are not set yet. And the whole memory loss thing might just be a way for nature to prevent a paradox. Meant to add that after I returned no one seem to notice anything, just me kind of normal one minute then the next second I'm acting all weird, no matter how long I was gone, it seemed no time passed in the present. It really sucked when I was working because it madee my shift that much longer.

I mostly posted to see if anyone with a good amount of experience in things like this has heard of a similar claim I can look into. I'm curious to find out how to either remember the future when I travel to the past. or make it stop all together. It gets frustrating to have to relive your life, and not be able to change it.
