  1. Hi folks not been on for a while as I've been putting the finishing touches to my e-book on Amazon. It goes live on wed 1st july but can be pre-ordered 99p (or 99c in U.S) If I had to pigeon hole it..... sci-fi/steampunk/timetravel/alternative-timeline...... a 9000 word novella... It has at times reached the top 20 in the U.K Top 100 Sci-Fi/Steam punk hope a link is ok? if not... mods please remove (and slap my wrists) U.K Amazon..... http://www.amazon.co.uk/Ashes-Debacle-Spinner-Adventure-Adventures-ebook/dp/B00Z7BRWCQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1435417712&sr=8-1&keywords=ashes+debacle and oh.... you know my real name now........
  2. As O.P...Looks like I started a lively debate... with regard to the Hitler thing, Stephen Fry wrote a novel entitled 'Making History' which was one of the best killing Hitler plots I've read (Spoiler alert, he actually prevented the birth of Hitler) in relation to the lottery..... I don't know the outcome as much as the next person ... but if it ever happens I'll let you know.....:D
  3. It hasn't really happened much in the last few weeks.... I think its because I realised and try to force it... i.e I'm guessing rather than 'knowing'..... but the car type did just pop into my head half way through hearing the reg plates....
  4. I was wondering about the knowing Vauxhall's system but they are issued in blocks to dealers by the DVLA (government) the first 2 letters vaguely represent a geographic area. My car carries a reg from a city 35 miles away as opposed to another city 15 miles away and was registered in my town (that doesn't have its own geographic code) but each issuing cities can have several codes! so any dealership in the surrounding area can use several codes covering a 50 miles radius So I'm puzzled it is 50 percent of the time Vauxhall's though..... Odd
  5. I'm on a few forums Bikes, my car brand, heath etc.. but this is the only one I feel 'comfortable' posting this... :) I work in car spares and ask people their reg numbers ( equivelant to licence plates if you live in America) to get the all the information about the car from the governments database, engine number etc..... Around 1 in 5 times I 'know' half way through the person telling me the reg what the car is... (strangely its often when its a Vauxhall..work that out....) Now is this.... Precognition.... I'm subconsiously seeing the future albeit only 5 seconds Slightly Psychic ability... my customer knows therefore I do..... or Just a coincidence and I'm forgetting how many times I think I 'know' but I'm then wrong Similiar things happen occasionally in other aspects of my life.....Now before you dismiss me as weird read my odd but true ghost story thread.... Now can any one suggest how I can use any of the above to win the lottery?
  6. Foot note to this story.... after I posted this and told my mum I had she said I never told you the rest....... A few days after my mum and my dreams a friend of my late Grandma saw my mum out shopping..... and said 'oh I dreamt about your mum the other night... she came to see if I was alright.....' later that month Grandma's friend died suddenly...... Honestly a totally true story.... (no crossed fingers behind my back or anywhere) spooky.......
  7. Thank you posting that I like a new time travel conspiracy..... Never heard this one though, just spent an interesting half hour following the links and ended up randomly at the wikipedia link for Klaus Barbie (nothing to do with this just natural link progression - What a Bar-steward he was) Some interesting facts/theories as you say though I won't list them here just let people take there own journey through the link... Its strange that this idea has materialised relatively recently (2000) and an event in the 60's 'can/has been made' to fit it. Edit: my theory would be some form of cold fusion energy plant rather than a time machine..... but who knows what weird side effects could come from attempts at that......

  9. I 'remember' Ernest Borgnine dying many years before he actually did... not so the other 2 ..... still strange though....
  10. Thanks for saving it Cosmo... only been a member for 6 months but was disappointed when it looked like it might close... and love your Avatar
  11. Thanks for your thoughts Vodkafan..... I'm just wondering..................... that's all and I could either travel just a day or so with a Time machine if ever invented or if a time slip happened maybe 20 or 30 years.... but in that case I would have find a post box and post it to a relevant address of mine of the era I am in.... but use stamps of the right age........ so do I carry around several letters to myself with vintage stamps on just in case I ever time-slip;) And incidentally if a time machine is ever invented that works (it would probably only be able to transport you to when the machine was switched on as the machine would be so large it couldn't travel itself) would gambling become extinct? Just realised I am giving this way too much thought:confused:
  12. There's a lot of theories regarding travelling back in time and changing history (grandfather paradox etc) and I wondered what the opinion is on here so if (hypothetically of course I have no means of doing so)..... I went back in time and gave myself the winning Euromillions lottery numbers for last night would I....... A. Return to the present and find myself rich with no memory of winning? B. Return to the present and find myself rich and remember winning? C. Return to the present and find I hadn't won because I didn't win originally and I can't change the past? D. Start another time line in an alternate universe where I did win.... but return to this timeline and not win? E. Or........ (your views) Please note, I am not obsessed with the lottery (although I did post the entropy thread regarding lottery numbers) I just used this as the easiest example to illustrate what I'm asking.....
  13. What I meant was patterns in the numbers themselves the first set of numbers for euromillions.... the main set of 5 numbers seemed to include 3 multiples of 9 and the 2 lucky stars included 9.... and..... no that set didn't work last night.... the 2nd set of 6 numbers for UK lottery tonight included 3 numbers that skipped 1 number between them.... when I looked at them they didn't seem as random as I thought they would.....
  14. Sorry if my posts on this seem a bit strange but most were answers to someone who seems to have left the site and took all his posts off:rolleyes: so now It seems I was just have a very random (nothing new there really) conversation with myself
  15. Okay so I have tried this system on tonight's Euromillions using 2 jars of rice - 1 for main 5 numbers and 1 for the Lucky stars..... I threw the rice and numbers mix 'craps dice' style in a plastic container and picked out the numbers nearest the end of the box. And repeated it again using 1 jar for tomorrow's UK Lottery draw.... The results are certainly strange the results are meant to be totally random (the jars were very shaken) but significant patterns occurred in each set of numbers (no I'm not going to tell you what they are!) So we will see what happens - here's to Entropy (And no I didn't have anything better to do)

  17. Oh and of course a computer cannot compute for fate (okay I'm bonkers!)
  18. Don't know if its still true, but in the early days of home computers it was said that a computer could not generate a truly random sequence (infinitesimally close to random but not actually random) would this very slight virtual leaning be in chances favour or against it
  19. Yes I am in the U.K..... So National lottery or Euromillions.... but my thoughts were just generally about using a physical (opposed to computer logarithms) random number generator to create numbers for a game that also uses a physical random generator. So my 'theory' (The word theory is used in the loosest sense of the word and could be interchanged with crack-pot idea) could be applied anywhere in the world I suppose what I'm asking is would (or should) my rice jar idea be more or less successful than picking a lucky dip on U.K National lottery
  20. But back to using it once per draw..... it would be a truly random selection that might select the correct numbers in our particular time line... rather than me concentrating hard trying to generate random numbers in my head....... which could could have pre-cognotive implications and that don't work either:( So all I have got to lose is.... the stake money, the price of a bag of rice and my wife thinking I have now totally lost the plot.....
  21. I suppose my rice and lotto numbers scenario is a little like the infinite number of monkeys with an infinite number of typewriters theory and if I shook enough jars and put on enough lines (money permitting) I would win...... Yes?
  22. Not sure if this is the right discussion group for this but seemed the most suitable (mods please feel free to move).... so here goes.... With more than a nod to Paul mc's Time travel/entropy thread..... Are Ancient Runes, bone reading, tea leaf reading and Tarot cards all a form of entropy? and therefore truly are a way of seeing the future? Could a true random event generator be used to see all possible time lines and then select the most probable outcome....... I'm thinking rice and lottery numbers mixed in a jar and tipped out....... Am I completely Barking or on to something? (oh and if anyone nicks and tries my idea before I do and wins the lottery I expect a substantial cut) Thoughts and discussion please ;)
  23. Hi Paul Bit of a newbie on here myself....... Your theory is certainly very interesting and certainly no less plausible than any other I have ever read..... Thanks for an interesting 5 minutes read. I have read a series of scifi-alternative universe/history-fantasy books that had entropy as a secondary plot line (The Eyre affair and sequels by Jasper Fforde) Simon
  24. I thought John Titor has been admitted/exposed as a hoax years ago.... am I wrong? (Don't worry I often am;))
  25. A coincidence that happened to me..... I was walking across the row of checkouts at a supermarket looking for the least busiest when I was stopped by an ex work colleague of 10 years before and we started chatting, then realised that the person in the queue where we had stopped was another ex work colleague, There were only 4 of us who worked at the company together and 75% were standing at unrelated shop checkout years later.......
