kimberlyd
I found this video that list 10 time travel theories. I know there are thousands of theories, but most of the ones listed here are the most commonly known ones. Do you know of any that are not listed? Can you expand on the ones that are mentioned in the video?

kimberlyd
I have a strong interest in black holes and have heard the theory that a black hole may be a gateway to time travel. If it were a gateway to time travel then gravitational pull may be the answer. However, time slows with gravitational pull so it would be a method of time traveling to the past and speeding up would be the answer to time travel to the future. Unfortunately, trying to find a way for anything to withstand the intensity of the gravitational pull at that magnitude would be improbable. You or the device used would be crushed to death or torn apart before any analysis could be reached.
Mylo.X.
However, time slows with gravitational pull ......... How do you know that time slows down? Or do you mean it would appear to slow down?
Wiseman05
That was quite the video. I'm not gonna lie. I liked that. As far as other theories that I've heard, I remember one, but I can't remember the name of it. Essentially, time travel IS possible, it just hasn't been invented yet in any sort of capacity. That we're essentially occupying the "prime" timeline really. Thats why there hasn't been any documented cases of actual Time Travel, because no one has the capacity to time travel yet, but once we do we can observe the various paradoxes from our stance as the main timeline all the others would theoretically branch from. I think that was the gist of it anyways.
kimberlyd
How do you know that time slows down? Or do you mean it would appear to slow down? Astronomy theories and such that I have read over the years. Though they have not concrete evidence, they do have strong theories due to observations and calculations that as matter approaches its "event horizon" time appears to slow down. Of course we have no ability to test it for ourselves because anything we throw in there would crush within seconds of entering, they use the same methods they use to determine where stars and planets are to make the calculations of what will occur. I wish there was a way that we could find out for certain what happens, but it they are correct in their theory.... there are so many possibilities behind it. Marcia B. in her book goes into the early primary investigation of the Stephen Hawking group on black holes. What is alluded to on her first book, is that while the interior of a black hole is densely compact matter, what surrounds the exterior of this phenomenon, is a moving dynamic jacket of a force field.Very simply put, is what happens to conventional matter when it is taken into this envelope of a black hole, is that the matter is broken down. However what she refers to as a consequence of the Hawking investigation, is that a magnetic envelope may take this torn apart matter to both other parts of the universe and or other dimensions as well. Technically, if you read her Thursday's Child book very clearly, what the Hawking group point to, is a kind of distribution system. This system allows both energy as well as matter to be evenly sent through the universe as a means of equalizing that take in matter ingestion. There is also a known particle fountain that is expressed as Hawking radiation, at the near relative poles of a B.H. She is a good writer as well as a pro-bono scientist.Thank you, Pinter http://www.amazon.com/Marcia-Bartusiak/e/B001HMN8D6 special insert for time travel fans, affininadaos, the said Tipler gennised near black hole densities like envelope of the supposed John Titor time displacement machine, depended upon two near black hole simulating devices. Which when activated, produce an envelope effect. This feature would make the traveler themselves be included as part of a special relativity, outside of the relativity of time and space from that departure point, to sought vector destination in time space.END TECHNICAL NOTE//
