Alas, Babylon is a book by Pat Frank about WWIII. In this book, the war started when a Russian plane was shot down in Syria. Part of John Titor's story was similar to parts of the book, including the parts about oranges, the river, etc. So, my question for you is this: Were some of John Titor's posts a signpost to the book as a warning? After seeing this in the news today, I'm really beginning to wonder:

"Standing afar off for the fear of her torment, saying, Alas, alas, that great city Babylon, that mighty city! for in one hour is thy judgement come. The implication is clear. The Book of Revelation talks about the end of the earth and the approaching judgement of the city of Babylon."

It certainly will seem like it. But the story continues with Pat Frank himself.

", and overseas during World War II. He worked for the Office of War Information and was a correspondent in Italy, Austria, Germany, and Turkey."

"Frank wrote his most popular work, the post-apocalyptic novel Alas, Babylon, while living in Tangerine, Florida, on Lake Beauclaire near Mount Dora. Vivian Owens, an author familiar with local history, states that "Pistolville", the name Frank gave to an area near Fort Repose in the novel, was in fact a location situated between the southern edge of Mount Dora to its north and Tangerine to its south.[4][page needed] According to Owens, greater Mount Dora was intended by Frank to be the model for his semi-fictional Fort Repose.[5]"
