MitchellStafiej
I believe John Titor predicted that the Olympics would not occur. Now assuming that he meant "SUMMER" Olympics, there is a strong possibility that the Olympics may be cancelled or even moved. The entire Tibet situation may distract the west from the games as there is a serious problem in the area of China. Discuss? Mitchell
RainmanTime
Mitchell, Now assuming that he meant "SUMMER" Olympics I would like to ask what good reason you would have for making such an assumption. (Are you also aware of the saying of what happens when you ASS U ME?)The fact is, whoever was behind the Titor hoax was an educated person (or people). The person behind them was also quite specific (when he wanted to be). Being educated, and taking his words SPECIFICALLY as he stated them, why on earth would you wish to give him the benefit of the doubt that he "forgot" about the winter olympics? (Unless you have a desire to help make him right?) I would suggest you research what "Titor" actually said, and maybe even quote his words in this thread, before you make any more assumptions. :yum: RMT
Darby
I believe John Titor predicted that the Olympics would not occur. Now assuming that he meant "SUMMER" Olympics, there is a strong possibility that the Olympics may be cancelled or even moved. The entire Tibet situation may distract the west from the games as there is a serious problem in the area of China. I'd like to see some references that suggest a "strong possibility" that the games will be cancelled or moved. So far I've seen nothing that suggests either possibility. The Olympic games, whether held today in Communist China or in the former Soviet Union will be controversial. The US pulled out of the 1980 games over the Soviet invasion of Afghanastan - but the games went on. They weren't cancelled. The games will go on as scheduled. China has invested far too much money into them to just cancel them. BTW: I don't know why you included that the games might even be "moved". If they are moved and held then the prediction fails. The prediction was that there would be no Olympic Games between 2004 and 2040.

bogz
Re: The 2008 Olympics - Air Pollution? - China Looks to me like China is working hard to address pollution. That's a good thing. No need to turn it into the end of the world...
