Kanigo2
As the LHC supposedly gears up, Harvard physicist Kevin Black, based at CERN, investigates rumors that the particle accelerator may, in fact, soon be shut down—by ripples from the future. I am not even sure if this is the right place in the forum, but what the hell. Anyone care to throw there 2 cents on this one? Don't forget to read the posts.... they are just as good as the article...
recall15
isn`t it for the Ripple on time on the ATLAS on May 11? or The Ghost Workers, green Fog and "Portals" from Montauk"? i bet for that one...

TheCigSmokinMan3
EVENT HORIZON SPACE TIME FOLDING SPINNING MAGNET? My Fellow Time Travellers, I don't like this "device"... It reminds me of the knobbed spinning electo magnetic space time warp drive from... The movie... Event Horizon... That the "super creepy" violent male female "rape" scene... And the line... "WE DON'T NEED EYES WHERE WE ARE GOING..." Where's that? A hellish dimension of "no light", "no joy", "no love and "no happiness" Sounds like Hell to me?... OPEN YOUR EYES! SOCIAL ENGINEERING HAS REPLACED MANOGAMY, HETEROSEXUALITY, LOVE AND SEX WITH HATE, HOMOSEXUALITY, RAPE, AND VIOLENCE!!! Will it open an "evil dimensional worm hole" for the EVIL GREY CLONES ALIENS TO WALK THROUGH???!!! OR WORSE??? DESTORY OUR DIMENSION IN THE FABRIC OF SPACE AND TIME???!!! STOP THIS DEVICE!!! I wouldn't mind but his clock isn't right-and he has been ordered 3 times by CERN to take down misleading information. I refuse to even repost the link. If there is a time warp from the unit colliding particles that would make that douches clock wrong anyway.

4thfold99
If all variables are "known" then there is no sense to build anything to prove a "known". Something such as this is built to discover "unknowns" which obviously are "unknown" (not to get into the poetry of Donald Rumsfeld). An "unknown" variable which as I'm sure you're all aware cannot be judged as a result or manifestation netreul/positive/negative etc, for it's affects if any are inherent. Layman's terms: Curiosity killed the cat, but the cat wanted to experience what it did not know would hurt it. recall15
hmmmmmmmmm... CERN to Start Up the Large Hadron Collider. Now Here's How It Plans to Stop It Continued http://www.spectrum.ieee.org/aug08/6558/
Kanigo2
Yeah that's the carbon pile that they dump the full load into-the test they had the other day past Alice. I still wait patiently for anyone to play with the concept that colliding these particles could possibly make the "event" not occur at all... Seriously does the rest of the universe care? Hercules
The field of particle physics is poised to enter unknown territory with the startup of a massive new accelerator--the Large Hadron Collider (LHC)--in Europe this summer. On September 10, LHC scientists will attempt to send the first beam of protons speeding around the accelerator. http://www.enn.com/sci-tech/article/37985CERN to start beam circulation in September But i doubt it is true... recall15
First particles injected into LHC quoted: Earlier this month, the successful injection of the first particles - protons - into part of the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) experiment at CERN, the European Centre for Nuclear Research, took place. This weekend, scientists are hoping to complete testing of another part of the machine, which sits in a 17 mile circular tunnel approximately 100 metres underneath the Franco-Swiss border, with the aim of seeing particles travel the whole way around for the first time. As such preparations for the formal September 10th start date continue, the entire machine has been successfully cooled to temperatures below minus 270ºC, a fraction of a degree above the lowest achievable temperature. more at: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/
Kanigo2
Re: First particles injected into LHC You must have also missed the fact they have a countdown of 17 days from today. Just saying. I think you missed this article also.. Time travellors from the future could be here in a week Have any Scholarly types talked to or met this gentleman? "he LHC energy can distort time so much that it loops back on itself. These loops are known to physicists as "closed timelike curves" and they ought, at least in theory, to allow us to revisit some past moment. The scheme chimes with one laid out in 1988, when Prof Kip Thorne and colleagues at the California Institute of Technology, Pasadena, showed that wormholes, or tunnels through spacetime, would allow time travel," Doesn't really matter I am just speculating a source for other reasons. Nevermind.
