I think some people will like to see some photos the rover made on the nasa web site that shows what look like crinoid fossils on mars. I messaged NASA about it but have not recieved any reply, nor has there been anything in the media about it. I provide a link to a NASA mars rover blog page, but the photos have the time stamps from Nasa and can be easily found on the Nasa rover web pages use your browsers zoom function up at 250% to get a better view of the photo.http://www.marsroverblog.com/discuss-212878-fossils-on-sol-605.html#comment-621936CheersSteve[DOUBLEPOST=1412208183,1412207821][/DOUBLEPOST]

What's a crinoid? Too lazy to search...

Crinoids are marine animals that make up the class Crinoidea of the echinoderms (phylum Echinodermata). Crinoidea comes from the Greek word krinon, "a lily", and eidos, "form".[2][3] They live both in shallow water and in depths as great as 6,000 metres (20,000 ft).[4] Sea lilies refer to the crinoids which, in their adult form, are attached to the sea bottom by a stalk.[5] Feather stars[6] or comatulids[7] refer to the unstalked forms.Crinoids are characterised by a mouth on the top surface that is surrounded by feeding arms. They have a U-shaped gut, and their anus is located next to the mouth. Although the basic echinoderm pattern of fivefold symmetry can be recognised, most crinoids have many more than five arms. Crinoids usually have a stem used to attach themselves to a substrate, but many live attached only as juveniles and become free-swimming as adults.

There are only about 600 extant crinoid species,[8] but they were much more abundant and diverse in the past. Some thick limestone beds dating to the mid- to late-Paleozoic are almost entirely made up of disarticulated crinoid fragments.
