PaulaJedi
The Lighthouse of Alexandria Around 280 BC, a huge tower was built along the coast of Alexandria and it is said to be one of the 7 wonders of the world. It is believed that this tower reached up to approximately 450 feet tall. Unfortunately, it was severely damaged by 3 earthquakes. There are rumors that Egypt is considering rebuilding this magnigicent tower. Why not? Might as well preserve history. Creative thinking and writing exercise: Can you think of any "modern wonders" that would qualify as being as magnificent as the 7 wonders? If so, please describe. Doctor When
The Twin Towers brought down on 9/11 were supposed to be most sophisticated building in the world at that time. So I would offer them up as a wonder of the world that we as a people lost.
thomas pendrake
One magnificent thing about this lighthouse was that it stood about 1500 years. I would propose the Hoover dam, or perhaps the "Great Wall of China" as two modern wonders of the world. Lady Liberty also has great iconic stature.
